Netflix: Con Todo & Strong Black Lead

We had the honor of working with Netflix's Con Todo channel on a video that shares the important story and history of Afrolatinidad. Narrated by La La Anthony, this video celebrates the contributions of Afrolatinos, and explains why there are so many misconceptions about Black Latino identity.

This intricate video was scripted, designed, animated, mixed, and delivered in just a few weeks. Through a combination of collage, stop motion, and 2D animation, we blended the digital with the tactile to create a piece that felt human. All colors, patterns, and music were inspired by Latin culture. To see our behind-the-scenes process, check out this highlight created by our director Dorca Musseb.

In another dream collaboration with Netflix, this time in support of the movie Jingle Jangle on their Strong Black Lead vertical. With two weeks until the Christmas holiday, we were given the awesome task of sharing an historic overview of the countless contributions Black people have had on holiday music and culture.

From script writing through music licensing and handcrafted design, we traveled through time and celebrated some of the holiday’s greatest hits, in spite of facing racial discrimination. Each period had its own custom pattern design and soundtrack, along with uniquely-designed images of the legends who brought each song to life. And thanks to director David E. Talbert’s narration, the final piece is every bit as smooth and soulful as the music it celebrates.
